His Excellency Kamrul Ahsan, Bangladesh Ambassador to Russian Federation made an official visit to East Siberian Province of Irkutsk Oblast from 3-7 July 2022. During the visit, he had a formal meeting with the Governor of Irkutsk, His Excellency Igor Ivanovich Kobzeb which was attended by most of his cabinet colleagues. Both sides discussed trade and investment opportunities, higher education, tourism and manpower export. Ambassador Kamrul Ahsan also had a meeting with the Mayor of Irkutsk City and addressed the Irkutsk Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

17 May 2022: A seminar on the ‘Birth Centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Golden Jubilee of the Independence of Bangladesh’ was held at the Moscow State University on 17 May 2022. While Professor Alexey Maslov, Director of the Institute of the Asian and African Studies moderated the seminar, Bangladesh Ambassador to Russia H.E. Kamrul Ahsan and Russian Ambassador to Bangladesh H.E. Aleksandr Mantytsky made introductory speeches. This was followed by subject-wise presentations from academics, fellows and policy makers of various Russian institutions and think tanks.

08 April 2022: Bangladesh Ambassador to Russia His Excellency Kamrul Ahsan visited Murmansk, the port city and capital of Murmansk Oblast from 7- 8 April 2022. On 8 April, he held a meeting with the Governor of Murmansk His Excellency Andrey Chibis and his cabinet. Both sides emphasized on further expansion of trade and investment between Bangladesh and Russia. He also held a meeting with the Murmansk Chamber of Commerce and Industries. Commercial Counsellor Mr. Molla Saleheen Shiraj accompanied the Ambassador during the meetings.

Mikhail Yefimovich Fradkov on 16 June 2021. During the meeting, regional and international issues of mutual interest were discussed. 18 May 2021: An online meeting on zoom platform was held at the initiative of the Embassy of Bangladesh in Moscow on 18 May 2021 between Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CCCI) and Primorsk Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) regarding cooperation in bilateral trade and investment. His Excellency Kamrul Ahsan, Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Russian Federation chaired the meeting. A ‘Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)’ is expected to be signed soon between these two chambers in this regard. Mr. Mahbubul Alam, President, CCCI & Mr. Boris Stupnitsky, President, PCCI among others participated in the meeting. Mr. Molla Saleheen Shiraj, Commercial Counsellor of Bangladesh Embassy in Moscow moderated the session.

01 March 2021: Bangladesh Ambassador to the Russian Federation H.E. Kamrul Ahsan held a meeting with the President of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) Mr. Vladimir Platonov at MCCI headquarters. During the meeting both sides emphasized on more active engagements between the Chambers of the two countries and agreed to organize conferences and round tables in online format between the entrepreneurs of Bangladesh and the Russian Federation soon.

25 February 2021: Bangladesh Embassy in Moscow coordinated the very first meeting with Kazakhstan to discuss the creation of a Joint Working Group (JWG) and to study the potential areas of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Bangladesh. The meeting was held on zoom platform.

24 February 2021: H.E. Kamrul Ahsan, Ambassador of Bangladesh paid a visit to the Collection Premier, Moscow, which is one of the biggest international fashion expositions in Russia. He also had a meeting with the officials of the event organizer Messe Dusseldorf. He discussed about participation of Bangladeshi companies in such events. He also invited them to explore opportunities in Bangladesh for organizing such events. 21 February 2021: H.E. Kamrul Ahsan, Ambassador of Bangladesh, with the presence of all the Embassy officials, hoisted the flag at half-mast at 0930 hrs Moscow local time observing the Language Martyrs Day and International Mother Language Day 2021. During the visit, Mr. Vladimir Valkov, Deputy Director General of Irkut Corporation briefed the Ambassador on different versions of the civil and military aircraft including MC - 21 short range airliner, SSJ100 regional aircraft, Yak-152 primary trainer, Yak-130 combat trainer and Sukhoi SU-30SME multirole fighter aircrafts. 29 January 2021: Bangladesh Ambassador H.E. Kamrul Ahsan had a meeting with Mr. Nazaruk Igor, Director of the Department of Trade Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) at its headquarters in Moscow. Bangladesh signed a Memorandum of Understanding with EEC on May 2019 to start negotiations for a preferential trade agreement. The EEC entered into force on 01 January 2012 with Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and the Russian Federation as members.

20 January 2021: Mr. Andrei Dmitrievich Kozenko, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation had a meeting with Bangladesh Ambassador H.E. Kamrul Ahsan at the latter's office. Mr. Kozenco has been a member of the Federal Parliament since September 18, 2016 and represents at the State Duma Committee on the Financial Market. During their talks, more intensive cooperation between Bangladesh and Russia in the areas of trade and investment were highly emphasized. A high level visit of the Russian Parliamentary delegation to Bangladesh also figured prominently in their discussion.

15 January 2021: Mr. Alexander A. Nikolaev, the immediate past Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bangladesh called on Bangladesh Ambassador H.E. Kamrul Ahsan at his office. During the meeting, they expressed at the growing level of cooperation between the two countries. Bangladesh Ambassador briefed him on the Rohingya issue. He also thanked Ambassador Nikolaev for his role in the successful conclusion of the deal for construction of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant.
